| The Chesapeake Bay region of Virginia and Maryland has been such an important part of my life, that I wanted to pay tribute to it in some way. Having grown up on the Potomac River in Southern Maryland and later on the Rappahannock River, this area, it's cuisine, customs, traditions, habitats and inherent beauty has become part of "who I am".
As a small child I was so captivated by my mother and grandmother's collections of tea towels from various places, from Maine to Key West. In a subliminal way I think my early attachment to this type of genre influenced my desire to create these prints and cards. They are fun, casual and colorful. The combination of my love of Art, Architecture and History has found its expression in these unique prints. I particularly enjoyed the extensive research required in order to paint the "Icons" featured and include their history, whenever possible.
In each county that is featured you are certain to find numerous art galleries, frame shops, gift shops and other retail locations that carry these prints and notecards for sale.
